SALINE TWP., MI – A Saline Township resident who lives near the massive “Stargate” data center being built at West Michigan Avenue/US 12 will be in court on Friday, February 20th.
In December, Kathryn Householder filed a legal petition in Washtenaw County District Court attempt to intervene in a legal dispute that has already been decided. Householder, who lives off Willow Road, wants the closed case reopened so she can defend the township board’s original vote to deny rezoning about 575 acres of farmland for the data center.
Data center developer Related Digital and property owners sued the township after the board voted to deny the rezoning. Town officials quickly changed course and reached a court-ordered consent decree that allowed the data center project to move forward with a list of conditions.
Ultimately, Hauseler wants to stop the data center project as preliminary work continues on the site.
