The New South Wales Audit Office has been in a “multi-year partnership” with CSIRO’s Data61 for about a month to explore opportunities to apply AI in government auditing.
The scope of the partnership, struck in October, includes “identifying new AI use cases, defining pilot projects, and evaluating technology and solution options,” Data61 said in a statement.
The intent is to “create a more transparent, resilient and efficient public audit that uses AI responsibly while protecting public trust and accountability,” the two organizations said.
