OpenAI’s ChatGPT is now available for voice conversations via Apple CarPlay for all users.

The functionality has been rolled out globally, including Australia, in free, paid and enterprise plans.

Users will need to update their iPhone to iOS 26.4 and update the ChatGPT app on their phone to make it compatible with CarPlay.

Users must then select the ChatGPT app on the CarPlay screen to start a new conversation or continue an existing chat.

Users can also choose to have ChatGPT voice start automatically when connected to CarPlay by making the appropriate change in the app settings on their iPhone.

However, there is no information about when it might be available for Android Auto.
