Deloitte Access Economics partner John O’Mahony said: “SMEs contribute more than half of Australia’s private sector GDP and generate 60% of corporate profits. However, they also lag behind larger companies in productivity per hour worked.”
“This productivity gap is impacting Australia’s overall economic performance. Artificial intelligence (AI) offers SMEs a powerful way to increase efficiency and drive economic growth – if they can remove the barriers that prevent them from adopting the technology and realizing its full value.”
“A third of companies not currently using AI say they don’t know where to start, while about half of those using the technology have only an intermediate level of understanding. We can do better – the AI adoption challenges faced by SMEs can easily be overcome with a little help.”
The report shows that SMBs are excited about AI but face five common barriers to adoption.
