Elon Musk’s SpaceX is about to go public in a $1.75 trillion ($2.4 trillion) stock market listing. Anthropic has filed early documents for an initial public offering valued at over $1 trillion. And OpenAI isn’t far behind, with its own float of over $1 trillion.
There’s never been anything like this: three massive startups with a combined market valuation of nearly $4 trillion or more listing on the U.S. market within months of each other.
Without SpaceX’s rockets, the oldest of these three AI projects, currently worth more than $1 trillion each, is just over a decade old. The world’s largest physical retailer Walmart, founded nearly 64 years ago and generating more than $22 billion a year, now has a market cap of less than $1 trillion, and IBM, which has been around for nearly 115 years, is worth only about $300 billion.
