A few hours ago, Elon Musk’s space company SpaceX announced the date for Starship’s Flight 12 (IFT-12).
It is the most anticipated rocket launch of the year due to major design and engineering changes V3 spaceship Spaceship and the Super Heavy rocket booster.
The earliest launch date (NET) for Spacecraft Flight 12 is Tuesday, May 19, 2026. The launch window opens at 5:30 p.m. Central Time (CT) or 6:30 p.m. Eastern Time (EST).
Unfavorable weather and technical problems may hinder the start on the first day. Traditionally, SpaceX continues to pursue two days as a backup launch window when a scrub (flight delay) is required for safety or technical reasons.
SpaceX wrote in its official announcement:
Starship’s twelfth flight test
The twelfth flight test of spaceship is preparing to launch on Tuesday, May 19th. The launch window opens at 5:30 p.m. CT.
A live webcast of the flight test begins approximately 30 minutes before liftoff.
