S&P 500 Earnings: Forward Estimates Continue to Rise as Oracle Reports This Week | Investing.com

There has been little change in the trend of forecast revisions over the last few weeks. There have been no posts on S&P 500 earnings on this blog in recent weeks, just to give the topic a break given market watchers’ sudden new focus on S&P 500 earnings.

This chart shows the trend of expected growth rates for the next few quarters.

The horizontal black-bordered area shows the low point for EPS and revenue growth rates in the third and fourth quarters of 2025 after “Liberation Day”.

The bottom of the growth rate revisions is likely to have been reached between the last week of May 25 and the first week of June 25.

S&P 500 earnings are still expected to rise 14% in 2026, just three weeks away. Q4 2025 results won’t be released until January 10, 2026, but once the 4Q25 results are in, investors will be able to best assess management’s forecasts for ’26. Then we’ll see what the expected 14% growth rate for S&P 500 earnings looks like in 2026 and how it changes.
