A Seattle moving company says years of work building a flawless online reputation were nearly undone in a matter of minutes when a sudden wave of negative reviews appeared on its Google page, reviews the owner says were fake and possibly coordinated.
Erik Langland grew up in Ballard, attended Ballard High School, and co-owns his company, Seattle Moves & More, with a longtime friend in the neighborhood he calls home.
“Yup! Born and raised in Ballard,” Langland said. “Just a couple guys who love working hard and want to serve as many people as we can.”
Over time, he and his crew built a strong reputation by word of mouth and consistent service. For years, the company maintained a perfect five-star rating on Google, which Langland says took enormous effort to achieve.
“Really proud of it, just the amount of effort that goes in,” he said.
