One of the nation’s leading experts on the use of AI in healthcare wants software providers to use AI writers for doctors to create performance data.
Professor Enrico Coiera, director of the Center for Health Informatics at the Australian Institute of Health Innovation, spoke at the AIDH AI.Care conference in Brisbane on Monday.
“My appeal to companies writing AI is: please publish your performance data,” he said.
“I can buy a stereo and see all the technical specifications, but no one reports the error rates, the hallucination rates (of AI scribes).
“I would like to know more about this. Please do this. People will buy your product if you do this.”
