Amazon Music and Shakira are turning her most famous post-breakup declaration into a legacy that goes well beyond the important advice of monetizing betrayal and heartache. “Las mujeres ya no lloran, las mujeres facturan” became a rallying cry, an album title, and the soundtrack to a world tour.
Now it has inspired an Amazon storefront for women-owned businesses and a partnership that aims to provide free artificial intelligence and cloud computing training to one million women in Latin America by 2028. The effort begins in Colombia, where Shakira’s Fundación Pies Descalzos has spent decades working with children and schools. Among the women it intends to reach are the mothers of those children.
