JAMESTOWN – Southwest Guilford continued to apply pressure in the second half. Ultimately, it paid off in a comeback win over rival Ragsdale.
The Cowgirls scored two goals in the final 28 minutes, including Piper Zack’s game-winner in the final two minutes, to edge the Tigers 2-1 in Metro 6A/7A Conference girls soccer Tuesday in Ragsdale.
“I felt like getting to the half really motivated the girls to get going and get the late winner,” Southwest assistant coach Landon Lopez said. “It was nice to see the mental strength these young women have and the trust they have in each other. It was nice to see the connection.”
