The chief executive of SafetyCulture, one of Australia’s largest private software companies, says new artificial intelligence coding capabilities have changed the way the company makes products, as one of the company’s biggest investors, Blackbird Ventures, acknowledged startups in its portfolio were struggling to adapt to the AI age.
Luke Anear took back the reins as CEO of SafetyCulture in February amid a global collapse in software company valuations – known as the SaaSpocalypse – caused by investor fears that tools from AI giants like Anthropic would allow everyday people to “vibe code” their own apps.
