I watched SAP’s (NYSE: SAP) keynote presentations from Sapphire Orlando to prepare for my visit to Sapphire Madrid. I should have realized that the keynotes in Madrid would be the same. And they were, except ONE Thing. SAP presented its European AI partners in Madrid and discussed AI sovereignty.

In Orlando, Anthropic was introduced as an important partner and received a speaking slot. At the event in Madrid, Mistral and n8n had time to demonstrate their skills on stage.

In Phillip Herzig’s keynote, SAP’s Chief Technology Officer said before introducing its European AI partners: “We’re taking a look at end-to-end sovereignty with different levels of control and resilience.” Last year, SAP introduced the EU AI Cloud, which “offers border models delivered end-to-end from Europe…”
