Samsung Singapore has brought in its Samsung Galaxy A08, redefining what is considered essential in smartphones and firmly placing an AI-capable one in its budget category.
All this on the Galaxy A08, for just S$278
The Samsung Galaxy A08 comes with Circle to Search, access to built-in Google Gemini and Perplexity, and some agentic AI across select third-party and Samsung apps.
Despite the AI assistance, it stays affordable with a MediaTek Helio G9+ processor, LPDDR5 RAM, and a massive 6,000mAh battery with 25W wired charging. The lower price band also doesn’t stop it from having IP64-rated dust and water resistance.
That said, it’s not 5G-capable. Samsung Galaxy A08 supports up to 4G/LTE networks, which is more than enough for streaming content on social media and connecting to AI tools. The display is also another place where it keeps cost low, using a 6.7-inch IPS LCD panel with maximum 90Hz refresh rate at 1,600 x 720 pixels resolution.
Included rear cameras are a 50MP main and 2MP supporting camera.
To round off its longevity, the phone has six generations of OS upgrades and security updates, plus it also has Samsung Knox and Knox Vault for hardware-based daa protection.
