A new hotfix driver from NVIDIA is currently attracting attention in the community surrounding the current GeForce RTX 50 series. Several users report measurable performance improvements in benchmarks and games after installing driver 595.76. The reports first appeared in community discussions and mainly concern cards such as the GeForce RTX 5080 and RTX 5090.
The background to this is a previous hotfix driver with the version number 595.71, which had fixed some bugs but apparently caused new problems at the same time. Among other things, users reported restrictions on GPU voltage, which meant that some cards could no longer reach their maximum boost clock speeds. In some cases, GPUs were observed to be operating below the expected clock speeds, which had a direct impact on performance.
With the subsequent hotfix 595.76, NVIDIA appears to have corrected these limitations. According to user reports, Blackwell generation GPUs can once again achieve higher boost clock speeds, especially when overclocking is enabled. This improves both synthetic benchmarks and real-world gaming frame rates.
One example comes from a user with an ASUS Prime variant of the GeForce RTX 5080. After installing the new driver, he achieved a frame rate of around 99.7 FPS in the 3DMark benchmark “Steel Nomad.” Previously, the result with an older driver was around 92 FPS.
