Render a table with 50,000 rows in React or Vue without a plan, and the browser tab locks up before a single pixel of scroll happens. The DOM was never built to hold tens of thousands of live nodes at once, and both frameworks hit the same wall for the same reason: every node you mount costs layout, paint, and memory, whether or not the user can see it. The fix is list virtualization, and as of September 2026 the tooling for it looks different depending on which framework you’re shipping.
