Two New Jersey residents were charged with breaking into a former IBM complex in Somers on Saturday, April 11.
New York State Police said officers arrived on the scene of the Ridge Way campus at 1 p.m. Saturday and found Violette O. Nidds, 24, of Ridgewood, and Benjamin F. Volino, 25, of Mahwah, trespassing and attempting a burglary.
Volino was observed carrying a large crowbar and was found to have a loaded 9mm firearm in his possession at the time of the arrest. He also had taken a Sony camera and a large power strip from the building.
Volino was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree burglary, both felonies. He was also charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and possession of burglar’s tools, both misdemeanors.
Nidds was charged with third-degree criminal trespass, a misdemeanor. She was issued a ticket to reappear…
