Perplexity has announced two major product developments, launching its Comet AI browser for iOS while also introducing Perplexity Health, signaling a broader push to embed AI across both everyday internet use and specialized domains like healthcare.
The release of Comet for iOS brings Perplexity’s AI-native browser experience to iPhone users, extending capabilities previously available on desktop. At the core of the browser is the Comet Assistant, which combines traditional search with conversational AI to provide direct answers, summarize information, and complete tasks within the browsing experience.
Comet integrates features such as voice interaction, hybrid search results that blend links with synthesized answers, and Deep Research, which aggregates information from multiple sources into concise summaries. The assistant is also designed to take action on behalf of users, enabling workflows like summarizing emails, comparing products, and navigating complex online tasks.
The mobile launch supports cross-device continuity, allowing users to begin tasks on one device and continue them on another. The iOS version is available for free, with optional subscription tiers offering expanded functionality.
