Pentagon adds Grok-derived products to so-called “AI arsenal.”

According to a press release issued Monday, the Pentagon is now armed to the teeth with “borderline AI systems based on the Grok family of models.” Are you shaking now, ISIS? Does the word “Grok” send shivers down your spine, Tren De Aragua?

According to a previous press release, this expansion of what the press release describes as the US’s “AI arsenal” will apparently be integrated into the Pentagon’s broader AI platform called “GenAI.mil,” which launched earlier this month and which integrates Google’s “Gemini for Government.” U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth appears to have quoted the following quote in this press release: “AI tools offer limitless opportunities to increase efficiency, and we are excited to see the future positive impact of AI across the War Department.” Hegseth’s quote sounds eerily like it was written by a 22-year-old graduate of Stanford’s public relations program.
