In the last closing session, Oracle (ORCL) fell 1.64% to $196.99. The stock underperformed the S&P 500, which posted a daily gain of 0.91%. At the same time, the Dow gained 1.43% and the tech-heavy Nasdaq gained 0.67%.
Year to date, shares of the software maker had lost 28.83% over the past month. During the same period, the Computer and Technology sector lost 0.55%, while the S&P 500 lost 1.24%.
The investment community will be closely watching Oracle’s performance in its upcoming earnings report. The company is expected to report earnings per share of $1.63, up 10.88% from the prior-year quarter. Meanwhile, the Zacks Consensus Estimate for revenue is projecting net sales of $16.15 billion, up 14.84% from the year-ago period.
For the full year, the Zacks Consensus Estimates are projecting earnings of $6.81 per share and revenue of $66.89 billion, implying changes of +12.94% and +16.53%.
