Oracle is laying off more than 500 employees at its Kansas City campus

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Hundreds of people in the Kansas City area have been told their jobs will be terminated in the coming weeks.

According to the Federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN), Oracle announced that it would cut nearly 550 jobs between May 26 and June 1 of this year. Emails went out to employees on Tuesday.

The positions are all from employees at the 8779 Hillcrest Road location, Kansas City, Missouri 64138. The notice stated that the campus itself will not be closing.

“There are no termination rights and it is expected that these layoffs will be permanent,” the statement said.

WARN added: “Oracle stands ready to work with state and local government agencies to support its employees during this transition period.”
