Oracle is abandoning its Project Jupiter gas power plant after a wave of data center backlash

Oracle is scrapping a controversial plan to build a natural gas plant to power one of its newest data centers.

Instead, Oracle announced last week that it would partner with fuel cell maker Bloom Energy to generate electricity on site.

The New Mexico site is called and is part of Project Jupiter Oracle and OpenAIs $300 billion cloud computing contract.
