Oracle expands Bloom Energy deal days after receiving a 0 million stock warrant

Thursday was Oracle an arrest warrant issued plans to acquire up to 3.53 million shares of the fuel cell maker at $113.28 per share, for a total investment of $400 million, under a deal announced in October. After the close of trading on Monday, the two companies said this expand a previous partnership that saw Oracle contract for 1.2 gigawatts of capacity from Bloom.

Bloom shares rose 15% after the announcement, rising to nearly $203 and representing a $316 million gain for Oracle over the option price. Oracle has until October 9 to exercise the arrest warrant.

According to Monday’s announcement, Oracle plans to procure up to 2.8 gigawatts of Bloom systems in total. The software company has signed a contract for 1.2 gigawatts and plans to complete deployment in 2027.
