NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Oracle said Tuesday it will begin laying off employees as the company looks to cut costs.

The technology company deals with database software and cloud computing. In recent months, Oracle has ramped up its efforts to develop infrastructure and software to support artificial intelligence.

CNBC reported that Oracle had 162,000 employees as of May 2025.

This is not the first round of tech layoffs in 2026. Back in January, both Meta and Amazon announced they were cutting over 16,000 jobs…
