ChatGPT is moving beyond one-on-one conversations, and OpenAI’s latest additions hint at a bigger contest over the tools people use at work.
OpenAI has added tools for collaborative office work to ChatGPT – a space where Microsoft has long had a strong position. The company unveiled the new features at a developer conference in San Francisco.

The main new feature is Space, a shared workspace in ChatGPT. Colleagues can use it to work with the chatbot, files, and Dots agents, which carry out tasks on users’ behalf. You can set instructions for pages, such as checking a team channel and updating content based on its materials.
All your pages and files are stored together in Space, like in a repository. But spaces feel alive.
