Nvidia’s rumored GeForce RTX 5080 with 24GB of memory may be headed for a CES 2027 unveiling in January, but buyers should not count on finding one on store shelves, according to the hardware leaker known as Moore’s Law Is Dead.

The YouTube channel’s latest claim describes the card as a paper launch: an announcement with essentially no retail supply behind it. That would fit with recent channel chatter suggesting add-in board partners have yet to receive design documents from Nvidia for a 24GB version of the RTX 5080, a gap that already cast doubt on a full CES release.

Pricing is equally uncertain. The leaker speculates an official manufacturer’s suggested retail price near $1,500, roughly in line with the launch MSRP of the RTX 5090. Supply of the RTX 50 series more broadly has been tight. According to channel reports cited by Asian hardware outlets, add-in board partners have seen Blackwell inventory approach sellout, with cryptocurrency mining demand in China and heavy e-commerce promotions draining stock and leaving retail shelves short.
