Nvidia NVDA has put another record behind it as the chipmaker moves closer to becoming a $6 trillion company, a milestone that would require only a modest further rise in its share price.
The stock previously reached at $238, valuing Nvidia at roughly $5.76 trillion. Based on the current share count, the company would need to trade above about $249 to move beyond the $6 trillion level.
The latest move comes as investors continue to assess the scale of spending on artificial intelligence infrastructure. Nvidia has also given shareholders another reason to stay focused on its capital returns, with its board approving a $150 billion addition to its stock repurchase authorization.
Options activity points to growing expectations that the valuation milestone could arrive before year-end. Market pricing indicated about a 50% chance of Nvidia reaching $6 trillion by the end of October, rising to roughly 67% by Dec. 18.
Despite the record valuation, Nvidia’s forward earnings multiple has remained comparatively restrained because profits and cash generation have expanded. BNP Paribas has raised its price target to $345, adding another bullish forecast as AI demand remains elevated.
