Nvidia stock approaches  trillion market cap milestone

Nvidia stock is approaching a $6 trillion market capitalization, a threshold no company has reached, according to Bloomberg.

Nvidia stock has risen 28% this year, pushing its market cap to just below $5.8 trillion, and no other company has done more to lift the S&P 500’s 14% advance in 2026, according to Bloomberg.

Two developments have driven the rally, according to Bloomberg: a strong revenue outlook from the company and an authorization of an additional $150 billion under its existing share-repurchase program, which Chief Executive Officer Jensen Huang said “reflects our confidence in the long-term opportunity ahead.” Huang has also called Nvidia “the world’s first and only growth value stock.”

“Nvidia is attractive on both a growth basis and a value basis, and it looks like a haven from any damage higher rates could do to the economy,” Jim Awad, senior managing director at Clearstead Advisors, which owns Nvidia stock, told Bloomberg. “All of which makes it such an attractive proposition here and a place people should continue to gravitate to if they have concerns.”

Larry Tentarelli of Blue Chip Daily said that as the prospect of Federal Reserve rate hikes has become more concrete, capital has been flowing into large-cap technology names seen as relatively insulated from rising borrowing costs.
