What Happened?

Nvidia (NVDA:NASDAQ) announced a new product on Wednesday called the DSX Pod AI Factory, which puts seven Vera Rubin AI racks into a container about the size of a standard shipping container.

It weighs about 62,000 pounds and can ship by truck on normal roads.

The cabling and liquid cooling are all built at the factory. When it arrives, it just needs to be placed, connected to other containers, and tested.

Nvidia says this cuts the time for a new AI data center to start serving tokens from six months to 14 days.

Analysts say a single Vera Rubin rack can cost more than $7 million. Notably, the pod is a reference design, so partners will build it, including Foxconn, Gigabyte, Lenovo, HPE, Quanta and Pegatron.

Deliveries are expected to start in early 2027.

Nvidia also says the pod could help European customers who face deployment challenges.
