Nvidia is reportedly in talks to invest in artificial intelligence startup Perplexity as part of a new funding round that could value the company at more than $30 billion.
The proposed financing could be worth several billion dollars and would increase Perplexity’s valuation by more than 50% compared with its previous funding round, which valued the AI search company at approximately $20 billion a year ago, according to Reuters, citing The Information.
Neither company has confirmed a final agreement, while the size of Nvidia’s potential investment and the terms of the transaction remain undisclosed.
Perplexity’s Annualized Revenue Surpasses $750 Million
The investment talks come amid rapid commercial growth at Perplexity. The company’s annualized revenue reportedly increased from less than $250 million at the beginning of 2026 to more than $750 million.
Part of this growth has been attributed to Perplexity Computer, a cloud-based AI agent designed to automate professional and computer-based tasks.
The product reflects the broader shift toward agentic AI systems that can go beyond answering questions to performing tasks such as research, coding, data analysis and digital workflow management.
