European public service broadcasters’ adoption of AI is creating potential work for channel partners that can integrate new tools while preserving control over sensitive editorial data.
At an event in Berlin on Oct. 19, NVIDIA announced an expanded collaboration with the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) on a sovereign AI framework for European public service broadcasters. The initiative brings together cloud providers, open-model developers and systems integrators to define requirements for deploying AI agents while retaining control over data, infrastructure, models and security.
The goal is to give European media organizations greater technological autonomy as they use AI tools.
“Sovereign cloud infrastructure and open models can help Europe’s public service media innovate while protecting data, editorial independence and cultural diversity,” said Delphine Ernotte, CEO of France Télévisions and president of the EBU.
