Nvidia CEO reveals new “logical” AI technology for self-driving cars

The billionaire boss of chipmaker Nvidia, Jensen Huang, has unveiled new AI technology that he says will help self-driving cars think like humans and handle more complex situations.

The world’s most valuable company will introduce new technology Alpamayo, designed to help self-driving cars deal with difficult situations such as sudden construction sites or unusual driver behavior on the road, rather than just reacting to previous patterns.

Nvidia claims Alpamayo will give self-driving vehicles chain-of-thought reasoning by combining what the car sees with speech-like reasoning.

Speaking at the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, the Nvidia founder and CEO said: “The ChatGPT moment for physical AI is here, when machines begin to understand, think and act in the real world. Robotaxis will be among the first to benefit.”
