StockNvidia NVDA has certified Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix and Micron Technology to supply HBM4 memory for its next-generation Vera Rubin AI chips, a move that broadens the vendor base for one of the company’s most important products.
The Nvidia chief said all three memory makers are already in production and racing to support Vera Rubin, which is slated for shipments in the third quarter. The platform will pair Nvidia’s Vera CPUs with Rubin GPUs and large pools of HBM4 memory in each server system.
Nvidia was up about 2% in Thursday trading, as investors continued to focus on the company’s expanding AI hardware lead. The move also underscores how Nvidia is tying its next wave of AI systems to a deeper global supply chain, especially in high-bandwidth memory.
Nvidia is also adding staff for a new research and development center in Korea, where Huang said he has meetings lined up with several major local companies, including Hyundai, LG, SK, Samsung and Naver.
