Nutanix Enterprise AI (NAI) 2.8 is now with us.
This is the cloud platform company’s Kubernetes-based platform designed to streamline inference endpoint management, a key part of the toolset that developers (and Ops) teams need to deploy, orchestrate, fine-tune, and manage large language models across hybrid cloud infrastructures.
Inference endpoint management is important because teams need to provision and scale (and monitor) machine learning models behind API endpoints so that applications can generate real-time predictions.
Nutanix has also heralded the upcoming general availability of Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP) 2.19, along with new incentives, programmes and resources.
The company says that enterprises “often struggle” to deploy AI alongside the apps and data it needs to access. Nutanix aims to solve this with a governed, dual-native architecture that runs both virtual machines (VMs) and containers side-by-side. This allows users to bring AI directly to their apps and data regardless of how they are deployed without adding architectural complexity.
AI needs containers
According to Nutanix, AI is accelerating the shift to containers, but why?
As we have explained before here, AI workloads require standardised, portable environments to quickly build, scale, and run complex software across diverse hybrid cloud infrastructures – that way, complex software application libraries can execute without experiencing fragmented and broken dependency…
