‘No union veto’: Labor takes first step towards AI regulation in the workplace

The Albanian government has taken the first formal steps to regulate artificial intelligence in the workplace, but is ruling out union veto power and saying new data suggests the technology still has limited impact on jobs.

Industrial Relations Minister Amanda Rishworth will also include AI infrastructure developers in her employment portfolio, requiring them to invest in local skills and training as they build billion-dollar data centers and setting minimum training targets for the projects.
