‘No Microsoft’: Rally held against proposed data center in Lowell Township

LOWELL, Mich. (WOOD) — Ahead of the Lowell Charter Township board meeting Monday night, Residents United for a Healthy Lowell, along with supporters from across West Michigan rallied Sunday afternoon against the proposed Microsoft data center.

“We’re out here today saying ‘no Microsoft,’ and we’re here making sure that community voices are relevant in all conversations,” said Betsy Lopez-Wagner, a co-founder of Residents United for a Healthy Lowell.

Dozens of people stood in the rain, some driving from neighboring communities and others joining in as they passed by. They all wanted their concerns heard, spreading awareness about the possible repercussions of a data center in the community.
