Nine is calling on journalists to increase the use of AI and this use will be monitored

Nine editorial staff, including newspaper journalists from flagship publications The Sydney Morning Herald And The Agewere asked to increase the use of AI in a staff meeting this week.

The publishing house’s chief executive, Tory Maguire, told employees on Wednesday that the company’s board expects everyone at Nine to use AI and that management will monitor employees’ use of AI with that in mind.

Maguire told staff that Nine’s publishing division, which includes Melbourne’s Old and Sydney’s Heraldas well as business oriented Australian Financial Reportwas performing poorly in the use of AI and the relevant employees needed to increase their use of AI.
