Moltbook, the social network for AI agents, has exposed data from real people

An analysis of WIRED found this week that ICE and CBP’s Mobile Fortify facial recognition app, used throughout the United States to identify people, is not actually intended to verify people’s identities and was only approved for use by the Department of Homeland Security by relaxing some of the agency’s own privacy rules.

WIRED took a close look at the highly militarized ICE and CBP units, which employ extreme tactics typically only seen in active combat. Two agents involved in the shooting of US citizens in Minneapolis are reportedly members of these paramilitary units. And a new report from the Public Service Alliance this week found that data brokers can fuel violence against public officials who face increasing threats but have few options to protect their personal information under state privacy laws.
