What’s remarkable about the 10% drop in Microsoft’s stock price on Thursday night – the biggest one-day drop since 2020, before anyone had really heard of generative artificial intelligence – is that the December quarter results the company reported just 15 hours earlier were pretty darn impressive.
Revenue rose 17 percent to $81.3 billion ($115.4 billion) and operating income rose 21 percent to $38.3 million. These are impressive numbers over a three-month period that exceeded analysts’ expectations.
