Microsoft has introduced a security enhancement to Teams Premium called “Prevent screen capture,” designed to block screenshots and recordings during sensitive meetings.
The feature is rolling out globally through late November 2025 to address mounting concerns about unauthorized data leaks in virtual collaboration environments.
This protective measure comes at a critical time when organizations across finance, healthcare, and legal sectors routinely share confidential information during meetings.
The feature was initially mapped in the Microsoft 365 Roadmap (ID 490561) with a mid-October target, but Microsoft adjusted the timeline to early November 2025 to accommodate additional testing and refinements.
Targeted release began in mid-September 2025 for select users, with broader deployment now accelerating across enterprise environments.
