Microsoft’s updated Surface lineup lands on October 13 with a chip upgrade and a price tag that will make budget shoppers flinch. The Surface Pro 12″ Second Edition starts at $1,149 and the Surface Laptop 13″ Second Edition at $1,199 — a $300 jump from the 2025 base prices of $799 and $899. Both devices run on Qualcomm’s new six-core Snapdragon X2 Plus, putting them in direct competition with the MacBook Air rather than the budget Windows laptops they once targeted.
