Microsoft today announced the launch of a new program, Community-First Grants, which will award $1 million in grants to Washington nonprofits working to address various community needs.
The first round of applications is open to King County-based organizations and will be accepted through Oct. 23 via the Community-First Grants page, according to a Microsoft press release.
“Nonprofits serve as the backbone for much of King County, bringing people together and delivering resources to improve the quality of life,” said Jane Broom, senior director of Microsoft Philanthropies, in the release. “Community-First Grants won’t solve every challenge nonprofits face, but it will support projects with immediate, essential needs to strengthen our communities at a time when nonprofits are being asked to do more with less.”
