Microsoft Johor Bahru Cloud Region: $2.2B Plan [2026]

Microsoft is planning a second cloud region in Malaysia, and it intends to make that region the biggest it runs in Southeast Asia. The region is called Southeast Asia 3 (SEA3 for short), it is planned for Johor Bahru, and Pokde.Net reported the details on November 7, 2026, citing Microsoft’s announcement. Microsoft says Southeast Asia 3 will join Azure’s more than 70 global regions and will be built as an AI-ready region for advanced workloads.
