Microsoft is finally fixing my biggest complaint with Windows

If you’ve ever put your laptop’s lid down, put it in your backpack, and reached your destination only to find your laptop battery drained and the backplate hotter than the sun, you’re not alone. This frustrating behavior is courtesy of Windows Modern Standby.

I can see the benefit in letting Windows invade your privacy, but I can’t for the life of me figure out why the most popular operating system in the world can’t get a standby feature right. It’s one of my biggest complaints with Windows, and Microsoft is finally addressing it as it should.
