The update aims to make Copilot more than a chat assistant, while giving businesses new ways to manage autonomous tools and AI spending.
On September 25, Microsoft unveiled new Copilot features, including a tool for creating apps from text prompts and an AI agent that can work continuously. The company is also integrating Word, Excel, and PowerPoint into Copilot so users can collaborate on documents without leaving the assistant.

The new “Code” tool will let users create apps, dashboards, and other software using prompts in plain language. It runs on the same technology as GitHub Copilot. The tool will begin rolling out to early-access customers in late September, while Microsoft 365 Premium and Pro subscribers will be able to try it later this year.
