Microsoft yesterday (November 6) released the stable version of Microsoft Edge 157, explicitly stating that the new “Accelerated App Launch” feature is supported on Windows 11 versions 25H2, 26H1, and 26H2, and that Edge must be upgraded to version 150 or later.
The new “Accelerated App Launch” feature primarily targets “warm start” (when the app is already running in the background). The official statement indicates that, under heavy multitasking loads, Edge’s launch speed can increase by up to 33%, with an average improvement of about 15%; Microsoft is also exploring the use of this mechanism to enable faster PDF file opening.
