Activists broke onto a Microsoft data centre construction site in Amsterdam on Friday, 6 November 2026, climbing cranes, hanging balloons and setting off flares, according to Al Jazeera. Dutch police said they detained between 150 and 200 people on suspicion of trespassing. The Microsoft data centre Amsterdam protest was the opening act of a two-day campaign that organisers plan to run in 16 countries.
