At Microsoft Ignite 2025 Nutanix announced that its cloud platform solution will support Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop for hybrid environments.
The Nutanix Cloud Platform’s support is currently under the development. However once integrated it will give partners the ability to deploy and manage virtual desktops with greater flexibility.
This comes at a time when local Nutanix partners are increasingly being asked by their customers for solutions that don’t lock them into a single deployment model, said Nutanix head of channel sales A/NZ Jelaine Doncaster.
“Azure Virtual Desktop on Nutanix AHV will deliver on-premise performance with public cloud scalability for burst capacity and disaster recovery,” she said. “It also addresses critical compliance and regulatory requirements.
“This is particularly key in regulated industries like financial services, healthcare, and government, where data residency and sovereignty are non-negotiable.”
Having the ability to evolve the needs of distributed workforces will give IT teams infrastructure choices while optimising control, performance, security, and cost efficiency.
