Microsoft Adds Virtualization Mode to Windows Admin Center
Microsoft has introduced a virtualization mode for Windows Admin Center, available in Public Preview 2, designed to streamline management of virtual machines and infrastructure. The feature provides a unified view for managing virtualization environments, allowing administrators to monitor, configure and operate virtual machines from a centralized interface. The goal is to reduce complexity by consolidating management tasks that are often spread across multiple tools. Enhancements were focused on installation and upgrades, resource health, improvements to the add resource wizard, compute and storage profiles and updates to storage and network views. Global search, VM management and Hyper-V replicas were also among the updates.
Windows Admin Center is used to manage Windows Server and related infrastructure. By adding virtualization-focused capabilities, Microsoft aims to improve how IT teams handle workloads running on virtualized environments, including setup, performance monitoring and lifecycle management. Organizations continue to rely on virtualization as a foundation for on-premises and hybrid infrastructure.
