Micron Technology Inc. and MetAI Technology Co. Ltd have developed simulation-ready (SimReady) semiconductor fab twins using NVIDIA Omniverse libraries, creating a digital foundation for advanced simulation workflows and future AI-driven automation in chip manufacturing.

The collaboration combines MetAI’s MetGen platform with Micron’s semiconductor manufacturing requirements to convert fragmented engineering and facility data into structured digital environments capable of supporting simulation, design validation, and autonomous system development.

Using MetGen: Building Generator, Micron can transform engineering inputs such as CAD drawings and facility metadata into parametric, modular digital twins. The platform enables the rapid generation of large-scale semiconductor manufacturing environments, including cleanroom production facilities.

The fab twins are built using the OpenUSD framework within NVIDIA Omniverse libraries, providing interoperable digital environments that support system-level simulation and future integration with AI-driven workflows.

According to the companies, the SimReady environments support a more unified approach to facility design and construction by enabling layout planning, design validation, and material flow analysis within a digital environment.
